So, from the
two 1/72 scale trucks built on different chassis cabs,
this is technically the first one on a Scania chassis
and longer in length that the Mercedes version supplied
to Dyserth Road.
Again, this
vehicle has been stripped down to component parts, a
scratch built bed fitted, re-sprayed cab and all
chassis/bed components, converted to right hand drive,
PalFinger crane sprayed in the authentic Freightliner
green which moves side to side, roof light bar added and
numerous other modifications to make this a truly
desirable Freightliner maintenance truck to own on a
layout.
I nearly
forgot to mention it, but look at the rear view image
above, even an orange railway type Hi-Visibility jacket
is laying on the back of the cab!
Built on a
1/72 scale model, this is probably the closest scale
rigid chassis truck to the UK model railway 1/76 scale
and so offers great realism in the authentic
Freightliner yellow and green livery, specially parked
next to the 1/72 scale Transit vans we sell

The vehicle
has yet to be completed with window frames, UK number
plates and other tidy up jobs to be done before it will
be offered for sale here on the website.
Most probably in a 'sealed bid'
auction in September/October to give all our clients interested
in it, the fairest chance of owning it.
We would
perhaps also recommend that the model is weathered as it
looks too 'spangley new' and in places not quite a
perfect paint finish (nearside door handle area for
example).
There you
have it, something totally different for a Freightliner
model railway and would especially look good as a
feature at a TMD depot.
As mentioned before, this model is
based upon a rare 1/72 which in itself is hard to find
which added to the cost of the crane and the amount of
work that has gone into converting the base model into
the vehicle it is today, it has been quite consuming and
therefore this model has to be targeted at truly the
model railway enthusiast or exhibition layout owner.
With the above in mind, we are
looking for an offer of £90.00
GBP (including UK std P&P) for this model

Network Rail - Scania Flatbed with
PalFinger Crane (Depot/Maintenance)
Truck - 1/72 scale

A beauty isn't it? This is a unique
Network Rail Flatbed Truck model based upon real trucks
used by Network Rail to maintain the UK rail system.
Often Palfinger crane equipment is
fitted to these trucks to assist in the loading or
loading of heavy materials or equipment, an image of one
of these real Network Rail trucks can be seen to the
right.
The Model
This is a one off Network Rail flatbed truck model that
we built for an exhibition/demonstration that is now
surplus to our requirements and offered in the first
instance for sale to our serious model railway
enthusiast visitors (before most likely being auctioned
onto eBay).
As we most of our special vehicles, this
vehicle has been stripped down to component parts and a
scratch built bed fitted.
A fully pos-able
PalFinger crane has been fitted which extends, moves up
and down and side to side.
An amber roof light bar has been added and
numerous other modifications to make this a truly
desirable Network Rail truck to own on a
model railway layout.
Built on a
rare 1/72 scale model, this is probably the closest scale
rigid chassis truck to the UK model railway 1/76 scale
and so offers great realism in the authentic Network
Rail livery, especially parked next to the 1/72 scale
Transit Mess vans we sell. (see our vans page
here
and these vans are nearly half way down that page)
There you
have it, something totally different for a
model railway and would especially look good as a
feature in its own right beside the tracks being
maintained or at a depot.
With the above in mind, we are
looking for an offer of £80.00

as pantographs and signalling with additional duties
including bridge/tunnel inspections etc.
