DESTINATION DYSERTH
ROAD
5th August 2007
Freightliner Depot Maintenance
Truck - 1/72 scale

Planned for delivery to Dyserth Road
during August/September 2007, this
is yet another specialist vehicle to add to their fleet
of liveried road vehicles at the new Container Terminal.
Freightliner
already use this type of truck at their Maritime
operation at Southampton to maintain their fleet of
locomotives, and Dyserth Road set us the challenge to
replicate the same vehicle for them.
Two trucks on different chassis
cabs have been built side by side as one off vehicles,
the first on a Scania chassis and second on the shorter
Mercedes chassis.
Cab layout and design lent the Mercedes closer to the
real thing at Maritime, and it was therefore agreed by
both us and the new owner operators at Dyserth, that the
Mercedes would be the one to serve at the container
port.
It is truly unique, with the bed scratch
built, chassis modifications, the
authentic Freightliner green and yellow
livery applied and the PalFinger crane
re-sprayed and modified to fit, these to
mention just a few of the tasks of this
project.
A huge amount of man hours have been
invested in design and construction of
this vehicle and it will certainly be
something quite different at the
maintenance area of the new Dyserth Road
container port, and another additional
Freightliner vehicle to the existing
fleet of Transits we have already
supplied
The Freightliner Ford Transit Vans
and Minibuses were designed specifically for the new
container terminal and have since been made available to
all
here, however this will not be the case with this
Mercedes maintenance truck, it is a one off model
vehicle.

Network Rail Ford Transit Van - 1/72 scale
Network Rail deploy a new style Ford
Transit based 'Mess' van at Dyserth Road

Scale Vehicles for Model Railways are
again delighted to announce a further
order from the infamous Dyserth Road,
this time in the form of one of our Ford
Transit based new style Network Rail
'Mess' Vans.
Supplied ready to go, the van has just
been converted from a standard 53 plate
Transit at our workshops and will de
delivered back to Dyserth Road mid-late
November 2007.

Peering through the large side windows
of the mess van it is clearly equipped
for looking after crews for all rail
engineering duties.

The Network Rail Mess van destined for
Dyserth Road is expected to play a
prominent deployment role in all areas
of the Network between the Freightliner
operated container port and the rural
out lying areas.
